hold you, daddy.

isaiah, in chapter forty of his very own book, says, "...Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?"

who am i to ever contain God?

it's been incredible to sit in this back seat for the last few months and to truly experience what it's like to walk in the confidence of an ever loving provider.

i'd so forgotten what it was like to live free from being hurt by others. i'd forgotten what it was like to want to thank God, instead of ask him questions about why things were the way they were. i'd forgotten what it was like to be free.

for years i've been limiting God to specific parts of me. and in limiting God, i found beautiful, wonderful aspects of who he had created me to be, being run over by the parts i hadn't surrendered to him.

i like that the same God who held the dust of the earth and weighed the mountains on scales, holds my heart.

i love it when little kids who want to be held by their dad, hold out their arms and say, "hold you, daddy."

i think everytime i see that happen, that particular little cutie is teaching me something incredibly profound about the longing we are intended to have in our hearts for that ever-passionate creator of ours.
