one of my tailor-mades made this. |
sometimes my boyfriend tells me i'm full of contradictions/double standards, and then he usually seals the deal by saying, "all you women are." obviously a super productive conversation isn't usually what follows an accusation, but it's what you do in a relationship. right? usually within a twelve hour period i can understand perfectly where he's coming from when the observation was made. and then a roll-up-your-sleeves conversation happens.
he's right, you know. we [women] have all these weird things in our minds/hearts/bodies. things that make a something to us "just a something" to them. or vice versa.
We hate the rain when it fills up our shoes
But how we love when it washes our cars
We love to love when it fills up the room
But when it leaves oh we're cursing the stars
ingrid is right. i think each of us is a story filled with tug-of-wars. things that, on the left make sense and on the right, confuse the crap out of us. it's hard to explain - but i do feel like the people in my life were tailor made for me - in and out of my contradictions.
and that feels like peace.
p.s. if you can guess what the title of this post means, you get a special prize.
