the index card and the receipt

i wrote this last night on the back of an index card, and it ended up overflowing onto a receipt. thanks to a very pretty and generous donor.

i come cut and bruised, but you take me.

i come empty and weary, but you hold me.

i come desperate and yearning, and you fill me.

i want you now. i need you always. hold me.

i'll seek you in my time of trouble - knowing no one else can save me as you have.

we try to find fillers - but nothing will do.

a bit of psalms 119:

blessed are those who seek him with all their heart.

i wll praise you with an upright heart as i learn your righteous laws.

... and i'm finished with that.

love him as he loves you. be near to him, as he attempts to draw you closer than you are now.

i seek, and i shall find. i wish, and he shall grant.

because he first loved us, we have the choice to love him.

so, i take this love and water it. i bury it in the deepest roots of my heart where the marvelous light of Jesus can water it into existence.

water me, and watch me grow.

satisfy me.
