keep me singing

i was reading something in chapter fifteen of exodus today, that i didn't even know existed. it's called, "the song of moses and miriam." it's a song the israelites sang to the Lord after they were brought through the sea, and delivered from the egyptian army.

i thought this whole song was really awesome, because even after all of the terrible things the isrealites had gone through, they chose to sing this song of praise to God.

verse thirteen says, "in your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. in your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling."

oftentimes, i take for granted the fact that i have been bought for a price, and that my worth is great.

amidst all the enormous confusion in my life right now, i find myself really petitioning God to create in me a new song each day.

one that is beautiful, and that wouldn't mean the same thing if it was sung by any other person in the world.
