colossians 1:13-14 for he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

so if we are in His kingdom, tell me - why does it feel so dark sometimes?

He has brought us out of obvious darkness, and yet sometimes it feels like i'm not catching even a glimpse of His light.

however, this last week - i was able to delight in the grace and love of a gracious and loving God.
it seems like just plain old stuff has been pretty darn hard lately - and weighing down heavy.

but then in one day it's like - i got me. i got joy.

and i with me came the arms of Jesus bearing gifts.

and as i tore them open, i found myself tearing into more than just the gifts of Him - i found myself tearing into Him - more than i had in a while.

and let me just tell you - this is better than the belle perfume i got for christmas back in '96.
