pews and hymnals

recently my dad received a pre-released copy of a book written by a former employee and pastor friend of his, ed gungor, called "religiously transmitted diseases".

how appropriate is the title of that one kids? i heard some bits of it a couple nights ago and there was only one thought on my mind after soaking everything in... write. it's only natural that reading inspires writing, correct?

i just love the whole idea of exposing the religion-based church to everything it never thought it was. that sounds harsh and somewhat unjust - but oh well - i like to rant.

i don't understand the point of religion. it seems like religious people are only that for the sake of comfort - perhaps basking in the knowledge that they're going to heaven for singing hymns. yet, they end up making everyone else uneasy with their low tolerance for "sinful acts".

religious people are ostensibly careless of the feelings of others unlike themselves. they tend to point out everything wrong in the person's life across from them, but fail to mention what they just said in the hall.

now i sound religious - pointing out all of their mistakes. i think the difference is - i know i'm wrong. i sin alot - but i'm workin' on it, ya know?

i'm not going to be accountable to God for sitting in a wooden pew.
